Track Athlete of the Week

Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) - Senior - UMass Boston

Garceau continued her hurdle dominance over the weekend, winning the 100-meter event at the UConn Northeast Challenge with a time of 13.45 into a headwind is the second fastest wind-legal DIII hurdle race ever, behind her own national record that was set last week. The senior also added a third place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.36 that places her 13th in NCAA Division III this season. 

She opened the weekend by winning the long jump at Eastern Connecticut’s Bonnie Edmondson Classic on Friday. She posted a personal-best mark of 5.65 meters, which ranks her 22nd nationally.

Field Athlete of the Week

Anaka Eaton (Coventry, Conn.) - Sophomore - Eastern Connecticut

Eaton won a pair of events at her home Bonnie Edmondson Classic, topping the field in the shot put (12.35m) and hammer (49.73m). She is now ranked 39th in the hammer in NCAA Division III this season. 

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week

Casondra Caldwell (Bridgeport, Conn.) - Freshman - Eastern Connecticut

Caldwell won the triple jump with a top mark of 11.47 meters at her home Bonnie Edmonson Classic. Her program record leap ranks 35th in NCAA Division III this season.

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week

Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.) - Freshman - Rhode Island College

Noriega won the 400 dash with a time of 48.60 seconds at Eastern Connecticut’s Bonnie Edmonson Classic. She is now ranked 26th in New England in the event. 

Relay of the Week

Keene State 4x100

Mia Cruz, Caroline Cooper, Elle MacDonald and Keely Giordano combined for a third-place time of 48.37 seconds at UMass Lowell’s George Davis Invitational, setting a new program record. They were the lone DIII team in the event.
