PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its annual women's outdoor track & field major award winners Thursday, following vote of the conference's nine head coaches.
Track Athlete of the Year: Aryianna Garceau, UMass Boston
- Ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III in the 100 Hurdles with an all-time DIII record time of 13.38 recorded at the Texas Relays.
- Ranked in the top-25 in DIII in the 100 Dash (22nd, 11.93), 200 Dash (17th, 24.36) and 400 Hurdles (24th, 1:02.94).
- Topped the podium in each of her four events at the 2026 LEC Championships, claiming victory in the 100 hurdles (13.77), 100 dash (12.01), 200 dash (25.00) and long jump (5.76m).
- Her 100 hurdles prelim time of 13.74 is a new LEC Outdoor Championship record, as is her top mark in the long jump that ranks 16th in the nation.
Field Athlete of the Year: Molly Lu McKellar, Keene State
- Ranked 20th in NCAA Division III in the Heptathlon, recording 4,553 points at Tufts' Spring Strampede.
- Places second in the Shot Put (12.35m) and third in the javelin (34.46m) at the 2026 LEC Outdoor Championships.
Rookie Track Athlete of the Year: Naibel Noriega, Rhode Island College
- Champion in the 400 Dash (57.28) and finished ninth in the 200 Dash (26.54) at the 2026 LEC Outdoor Championships.
- Also won gold as a member of the 4x100 Relay and silver as a member of the 4x400 Relay at the conference championships.
Rookie Field Athlete of the Year: Casondra Caldwell, Eastern Connecticut
- Runner-up in the long jump (5.56m) and triple jump (11.21m) at the 2026 LEC Outdoor Championships.
- Ranked 42nd in NCAA Division III in the triple jump with a mark of 11.47 meters at her home Bonnie Edmondson Classic.
Coaching Staff of the Year: University of Southern Maine
- Head coach Rob Whitten and assistant coaches Ryan Dyer, Jim Karcanes, Jim Giroux, Mike Drummey and Jeff Amos.
- Guided the Huskies to their sixth consecutive and LEC-record 25th women's outdoor team championship.
- USM once again swept the LEC indoor and outdoor championship team title.
