NEW ORLEANS – For the second consecutive week, UMass Boston senior Aryianna Garceau (Dalton, Mass.) was named the United States Track & Field Cross County Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Athlete of the Week for a trio of stellar performances over the weekend. This week's recognition marks the second consecutive and third career USTFCCCA honor for Garceau.
Garceau placed first overall at the Regis Spring Classic in the 100-meter dash, finishing prelims in 11.93, and finals in 11.98, which currently leads the Little East Conference, and has her ranked 13th in NCAA Division III. At Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational, Garceau repeated history, breaking her previous DIII record in the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-legal 13.40 finish.
Garceau and the Beacons' track & field team continue the spring season Friday at Eastern Connecticut State University's Bonnie Edmundson Classic, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
