Yankee Ford LEC Baseball Athletes of the Week: March 23, 2026 3/23/2026 12:03:44 PM Player of the Week Ian Moser (Bellingham, Mass.) - Junior - First Base - Eastern Connecticut In a 5-0 week for the Warriors, Moser batted .462 (6-for-13) with a 1.308 slugging percentage (two doubles, three home runs) and .563 on-base percentage, drove in ten runs and scored six. He was 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 13-10 win over Benedictine, went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in a 4-2 win over Worcester State before going 2-for-2 with one double, one homer, five RBI and two runs in a 9-3 win over the Lancers. The junior was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Eastern Connecticut’s 10-8 victory at Ramapo. Pitcher of the Week Stephen Rickert (Williston, Vt.) - Sophomore - Starting Pitcher - Eastern Connecticut Rickert pitched a shutout in his fourth career start in a 6-0, six-inning Little East Conference win over VTSU Castleton. He struck out seven and walked one in the three-hit complete game that lowered his season ERA to 1.93 in 23 1/3 innings. Rickert struck out at least one batter in every inning, retiring 13 straight before issuing a two-out walk in the top of the sixth. Rookie of the Week Ben Sherry (Fall River, Mass.) - Freshman - Outfield - UMass Boston Sherry batted .350 (7-for-20) and slugged .700 as he piled up four doubles, one homer, six runs and four RBI in a 3-2 week for the Beacons. In a league sweep of WestConn, he was 1-for-4 with an RBI double in an 11-2 win before going 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in an 8-5 victory over the Wolves. Sherry was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and one RBI in an 11-7 win over Mt. St. Vincent after going 1-for-3 with a double, and RBI and a run scored in an 8-5 loss to Bethel and going 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 6-4 setback to Rowan.
