PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) has named Rhode Island College junior Haylie Peacock its Women’s Tennis Player of the Week and Bridgewater State University freshman Ana Eccles its Rookie of the Week following their performances during the week ending Oct. 4, 2026.
Player of the Week: Haylie Peacock, Rhode Island College
Peacock, a junior from West Gardiner, Maine, went 3-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles as the Anchorwomen posted three 7-0 conference victories over Western Connecticut, Vermont State Castleton and Southern Maine. She lost just one game in singles and three games in doubles across the three matches.
In the Sept. 29 victory over Western Connecticut, Peacock teamed with Faith Owren for a 6-3 win at first doubles before earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles. Against Vermont State Castleton on Oct. 1, she and Owren won 6-0 at first doubles, while Peacock claimed a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory. She closed the week against Southern Maine on Oct. 3 with another 6-0 doubles win alongside Owren and a 6-0, 6-0 singles triumph.
Rookie of the Week: Ana Eccles, Bridgewater State
Eccles, a freshman from Swampscott, Mass., went 2-0 at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles as the Bears earned matching 6-1 conference victories over UMass Boston and UMass Dartmouth.
Against UMass Boston, Eccles partnered with Maeve Snyder for a 6-1 victory at third doubles before defeating Delilah Castro 6-4, 6-4 at fifth singles. She followed with a 6-0 doubles win alongside Snyder against UMass Dartmouth and a 6-2, 7-5 singles victory over Tamia McQueen to finish the week unbeaten.
