PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its women’s tennis weekly award winners for the week ending September 20, 2026. WestConn’s Erickah Tertulien was named Player of the Week, while Bridgewater State University’s Violetta Babichev earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Player of the Week – Erickah Tertulien, WestConn

Tertulien went a perfect 6-0 across singles and doubles competition as WestConn posted a 2-1 record for the week. The senior went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 at No. 2 doubles. She earned straight-set singles victories against Lehman College (7-5, 7-5), Bard College (6-1, 7-5) and the University of Southern Maine (6-3, 6-2). Tertulien teamed with Keira Hammond for all three doubles victories, including a comeback against Southern Maine in which the duo overcame a 3-0 deficit and won six consecutive games to secure the match.

Rookie of the Week – Violetta Babichev, Bridgewater State

Babichev opened her collegiate career with an unbeaten week in singles play for Bridgewater State. The junior went 2-0 at No. 5 singles, beginning with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Wheaton College’s Taylor Wilson in her collegiate debut. She followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Rhode Island College’s Addison Hadlock.
