PROVIDENCE, R.I. – UMass Dartmouth women’s tennis players Magali Breur and Tamia McQueen earned Little East Conference (LEC) weekly honors following strong performances to open the 2026 season. Breur was named the LEC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while McQueen was selected as the conference’s Rookie of the Week.
Breur opened the season with an undefeated week at the top of the Corsairs’ lineup, posting a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 2-0 mark at No. 1 doubles. She earned straight-set victories in both of her singles matches, highlighted by a dominant 6-0, 6-0 performance against Thomas College. Her efforts helped UMass Dartmouth control the top of the lineup throughout its opening week.
McQueen made an immediate impact in the first matches of her collegiate career, finishing the week undefeated in both singles and doubles action. The rookie went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles, beginning her collegiate singles career with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Lesley University. McQueen followed that performance with a three-set victory against Thomas, battling back to secure the win and complete an unbeaten opening week.
The performances from Breur and McQueen helped UMass Dartmouth begin the 2026 campaign with consecutive 7-0 victories over Lesley and Thomas. The Corsairs went undefeated across the two matches, establishing an early 2-0 record to begin the season.
