PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) has named UMass Dartmouth junior Daniel Jordan its Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, University of Southern Maine junior Alex Graver its Defensive Player of the Week and UMass Boston freshman Gabriel Jordao its Rookie of the Week. No nominees were submitted for Goalkeeper of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week: Daniel Jordan, UMass Dartmouth

Jordan, a junior forward from Needham, Mass., recorded a goal and an assist to help UMass Dartmouth earn two conference victories. The Needham High School graduate assisted on Mario Rodriguez’s equalizer in a 3-1 win at Rhode Island College on Oct. 7, registering his first point of the season.

Jordan then scored the lone goal in the Corsairs’ 1-0 victory over Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 10. He converted a pass from Nick Scanlon in the 58th minute for his first goal of the season, helping UMass Dartmouth secure its second win of the week against a team above it in the conference standings.

Defensive Player of the Week: Alex Graver, Southern Maine

Graver, a junior from Freeport, Maine, anchored Southern Maine’s defense at center back, playing all 90 minutes in both matches during a 1-1 week. The Freeport High School graduate also scored on a direct free kick in the Huskies’ 2-1 victory at UMass Boston on Oct. 7.

Graver’s shot curled into the upper-left corner for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. The victory marked Southern Maine’s first road win against the Beacons since 2007 and its first win in the series since 2012, snapping a 13-game winless streak.

In a 1-0 loss to conference leader Western Connecticut on Oct. 10, Graver helped limit the Wolves to five shots on goal while putting two shots on target himself. He finished the week with five shots, including three on goal.

Rookie of the Week: Gabriel Jordao, UMass Boston

Jordao, a freshman forward from Bellingham, Mass., scored twice in UMass Boston’s 4-1 victory over Vermont State Castleton on Oct. 10. The Bellingham High School graduate’s two-goal performance included the game-winning tally and helped the Beacons finish the week with a 1-1 record.
