PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its men’s soccer weekly award winners for the week ending September 13, 2026. Vermont State University Castleton’s Jacques Alfani was named Offensive Player of the Week, Western Connecticut State University’s Enzo LaGrassa-Gillet was selected as Defensive Player of the Week, Eastern Connecticut State University’s Jack Harmon earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors and Western Connecticut’s Aime Ruggles was named Rookie of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week – Jacques Alfani, Vermont State Castleton

Alfani powered the Spartans’ attack during a 1-1-0 week, totaling two goals and two assists for six points on six shots, including one game-winning goal and one first goal of the match. The junior forward delivered all six of his points in Castleton’s 4-0 victory over Paul Smith’s College, scoring twice and assisting on the Spartans’ final two goals. Alfani opened the scoring before quickly adding his second goal to give Castleton a 2-0 advantage. He then assisted on each of the final two tallies to complete the six-point performance. Alfani recorded five shots in the victory, four of which were on goal. He also registered one shot in Castleton’s 3-0 setback to Western Connecticut earlier in the week.

Defensive Player of the Week – Enzo LaGrassa-Gillet, Western Connecticut

LaGrassa-Gillet anchored the Western Connecticut back line as the Wolves went 2-1-0 over three matches. The senior defender helped Western Connecticut limit its three opponents to just two combined goals, highlighted by a 3-0 shutout victory over Vermont State Castleton. LaGrassa-Gillet deflected several Castleton scoring attempts to help preserve the clean sheet. He also helped the Wolves hold No. 7 Wheaton College to one goal in a narrow 1-0 setback before limiting Ramapo College to one goal in a 3-1 victory. LaGrassa-Gillet finished the three-match stretch without a goal, assist, point or shot while making his impact on the defensive end.

Goalkeeper of the Week – Jack Harmon, Eastern Connecticut

Harmon was perfect in goal as Eastern Connecticut went 2-0-0 with a pair of shutout victories. The junior goalkeeper appeared in two matches and logged 164:07 in goal without allowing a goal, stopping all 13 shots he faced for a 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average. Harmon played 74:07 in a 2-0 victory over the United States Coast Guard Academy, making six saves while allowing no goals. He followed by playing all 90 minutes of Eastern Connecticut’s 1-0 conference victory at Keene State College, recording seven saves and his first individual shutout of the season. Harmon also landed at No. 3 on ESPN’s Top 10 Plays following a standout save against Coast Guard.

Rookie of the Week – Aime Ruggles, Western Connecticut

Ruggles contributed to Western Connecticut’s 2-1-0 week, earning the start in goal for the Wolves’ 3-1 victory over Ramapo College. The first-year goalkeeper played all 90 minutes, allowing one goal while making three saves for a 1.00 goals-against average and .750 save percentage. Ruggles came up with a key stop against Ramapo’s Luca Cascio with four minutes remaining to preserve Western Connecticut’s two-goal advantage. The victory improved Ruggles to 2-0 in his collegiate career.
