Yankee Ford LEC Women’s Volleyball Athletes of the Week: September 8, 2025 9/8/2025 2:26:55 PM Offensive Player of the Week Olivia Seutter (Mesa, Ariz.) - Sophomore - Opposite - UMass Dartmouth Seutter repeated as the LEC Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 3.50 kills and 3.75 points per set while hitting .237 in a 2-2 week for the Corsairs. She had 13 kills and a pair of blocks in a sweep of Worcester State before hitting .556 with 15 kills and three blocks in a sweep of Colby-Sawyer. Seutter capped the week by recording a team-high nine kills in a 3-0 loss at No. 4 Johns Hopkins. Defensive Player of the Week Mary Matthews (Wilsonville, Ore.) - Sophomore - Libero - UMass Boston Matthews repeated as the LEC Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 5.60 digs per set while tallying 84 total digs over four matches for the Beacons last week. She had a career-best 33 digs in a 3-2 setback to Emerson and had 22 digs in a three-set loss to Saint Benedict, which is receiving votes in the current AVCA Division III Coaches’ Poll. Matthews had 15 digs in a four-set victory over Salem State after notching 14 digs at Brandeis. Setter of the Week Maggie Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) - Senior - Western Connecticut Ferguson averaged 9.50 assists per set while totaling 114 assists over a 2-1 week for the Wolves. She capped the week with 41 assists and 14 digs in a 3-2 victory over Rivier Saturday after opening the tri-match with 25 assists and nine digs in a sweep of Clark. Ferguson opened the week with a 48-assist, 18-dig performance in a 3-1 loss at Farmingdale State Thursday. Rookie of the Week Allegra Copeland (Beaumont, Calif) - Freshman - Pin - Eastern Connecticut Copeland averaged 2.70 kills with a .351 attack percentage to go along with 17 digs in a 2-1 week for the Warriors. She put down 10 kills while hitting .500 and notching seven digs in a sweep of Worcester State before tallying nine kills while hitting .412 in a sweep of Bay Path, which also saw her record six digs and two blocks. Copeland opened the week recording eight kills and four digs in a 3-1 setback to Trinity (Conn.).
