Offensive Player of the Week
Olivia Seutter (Mesa, Ariz.) - Sophomore - Opposite - UMass Dartmouth
Suetter racked up 50 kills and 10 blocks over four matches for the Corsairs last week. She had 10 kills while hitting .400 and posting two blocks as UMass Dartmouth swept Bowdoin after opening the week with 17 kills and four blocks over five sets against WPI. Seutter then totaled 15 kills and four blocks while hitting .289 over five sets against Smith and putting down eight kills against Colby. Colby is ranked 17th in the most-recent AVCA DIvision III Coaches Poll, while Smith is among the teams receiving votes nationally.
Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Pogorelec (Wayne, N.J.) - Senior - Defensive Specialist - UMass Dartmouth
Pogorelec led the Corsairs with 73 digs and an average of 4.50 digs per set over the course of four matches last week. She opened the week with 28 digs over five sets against WPI, had nine digs in a 3-0 victory over Bowdoin, tallied 23 digs over five sets versus Smith, and had 12 digs in three sets against Colby. Colby is ranked 17th in the most-recent AVCA DIvision III Coaches Poll, while Smith is among the teams receiving votes nationally.
Setter of the Week
Maggie Ferguson (Southbury, Conn.) - Senior - Setter - Western Connecticut
Ferguson totaled 113 assists (10.27 per set) and 30 digs (2.73 per set) in a 3-0 week for the Wolves in non-conference play. She had 42 assists in a 3-1 home win over SUNY New Paltz before handing out 38 assists with 12 digs in a sweep of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and 33 assists with 14 digs in a four-set win over Hartford.
Rookie of the Week
Sya McKay (Somersworth, N.H.) Freshman - Middle/Outside - Plymouth State
McKay had 32 kills (2.46 per set) while hitting .377 and posting 11 total blocks, 18 digs and seven aces in a 4-0 week for the Panthers. McKay pounded six kills on eight swings (.750) with three blocks, seven digs and five aces in a sweep of Norwich on Tuesday. In Thursday’s home-opening 3-0 win over New England College, she added nine kills, three blocks and three digs. On Saturday she posted seven kills (.400), two blocks, five digs and an ace to blank Worcester State before chipping in 10 kills (.360), three blocks, three digs and an ace in a four-set win over Connecticut College.
