GENEVA, Ohio - UMass Boston junior Aryianna Garceau will run for an national championship in the 100-meter hurdles Sunday after placing third in Saturday’s 2025 NCAA Division III National Championship prelims at the SPIRE Institute Friday afternoon.
Garceau, who won the 60-meter hurdle title during the indoor season, posted a time of 13.91 seconds Friday. She was just one-hundredth of a second back of Bethel’s Kelsie Sealock, while Chicago’s Ren Brown posted a prelim time of 13.75 seconds to top the field in the preliminary rounds.
Sunday’s 100-meter hurdle final will be contested at 2:00 p.m. Garceau would earn at-least First Team All-America honors with a top-eight finish tomorrow afternoon, a ninth-place finish would designate her as Second Team All-America.
Southern Maine senior Ethan Shain just missed advancing to the men’s 100-meter dash finals after turning in a 10th-place time of 10.61 seconds, earning him Second Team All-America honors. Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Caleb Beightol was the last to qualify for Sunday’s final with his ninth-place time of 10.60 seconds.
USM senior Ben Drummey will join Garceau as a Sunday competitor. He’ll go for a national title in the men’s pole vault at noon.
