GENEVA, Ohio - Five of the seven Little East Conference (LEC) student-athletes competing Thursday earned All-America honors on the opening day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at the SPIRE Institute.
A pair of LEC standouts turned in All-America performances in the opening event the of the day - men’s discus. UMass Dartmouth’s Ancil Alexander earned First Team honors with his sixth-place finish, posting a top throw of 49.83 meters on his fourth attempt, while Southern Maine’s Will Carrolton earned Second Team honors with his ninth-place toss of 47.49 meters on his third and fifth attempts.
A trio of LEC women’s competitors earned All-America with their performances today. Southern Maine’s Riley Reitchel led the way with her fourth-place finish in the javelin, earning First Team honors when her second attempt of the day flew 41.32 meters.
USM’s Zoe Barnes took turned in a Second Team All-America performance in the women’s discus after placing 10th with her third and final throw of 40.94 meters. Eastern Connecticut’s Natasha Frisch finished 16th in the pole vault after clearing 3.75 meters, earning her Second Team All-America.
UMass Dartmouth senior Connor Richard finished 17th in the men’s javelin with his opening throw of 56.20 meters, he was a meter shy of the 16th and final All-America position. In the women’s long jump, Warrior freshman Givanni Perry finished 20th with a top mark of 5.39 meters, which she accomplished on her second of three attempts at nationals.
The LEC has three more competitors in the coming days at the 2025 NCAA championships. UMass Boston’s Aryianna Garceau and Southern Maine’s Ethan Shain will compete in the 100 hurdles and 100 dash prelims on Saturday with hopes of advancing to finals on Sunday. USM’s Ben Drummey will compete in the pole vault Sunday.
