PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its first set of women’s volleyball weekly award winners for the 2026 season, recognizing Plymouth State University’s Sydney Riley, Eastern Connecticut State University’s Emerson Conigliaro and UMass Dartmouth’s Skye Peters and Brooke Harrington following standout performances during the opening week of competition.

Offensive Player of the Week – Sydney Riley, Plymouth State

Riley helped lead Plymouth State to a 4-1 start to the 2026 season, providing an efficient offensive presence for the Panthers throughout the opening week. The junior middle totaled 42 kills across 17 sets, averaging 2.47 kills per set while posting an impressive .380 hitting percentage. Riley also contributed at the net defensively, totaling 10 blocks over the five-match stretch. She opened the season with 10 kills in a 3-1 victory over New England College and continued to provide consistent production throughout the week. Riley finished the stretch with a team-high 47 points as the Panthers picked up four victories in their first five matches.

Defensive Player of the Week – Emerson Conigliaro, Eastern Connecticut

Conigliaro anchored the Eastern Connecticut defense as the Warriors opened the season with three consecutive victories. The junior libero totaled 56 digs across the three matches, averaging more than five digs per set while leading Eastern in digs in each contest. Conigliaro opened the season with 17 digs and four service aces in a 3-0 victory over the University of Saint Joseph before recording 21 digs in a five-set win over Mount Holyoke College. She closed the week with another 18 digs as Eastern defeated Saint Joseph in five sets. Conigliaro also totaled seven service aces during the Warriors’ undefeated opening week.

Setter of the Week – Skye Peters, UMass Dartmouth

Peters directed the UMass Dartmouth offense during a 2-1 opening week, totaling 99 assists across 11 sets for an average of 9.00 assists per set. The junior setter also contributed 29 digs and six service aces while helping the Corsairs post a .222 team hitting percentage. Peters began the season with 24 assists, nine digs and two aces in a straight-set victory over Dean College. She continued to guide the offense as UMass Dartmouth earned a five-set victory over Coast Guard before closing the week against Endicott. The Corsairs totaled 128 kills across their first three matches with Peters directing the offense.

Rookie of the Week – Brooke Harrington, UMass Dartmouth

Harrington made an immediate impact during the first three matches of her collegiate career, leading UMass Dartmouth with 42 digs while also recording a team-high eight service aces. The first-year defensive specialist averaged 3.82 digs per set across 11 sets as the Corsairs opened the season with a 2-1 record. Harrington made her collegiate debut with 11 digs and six service aces in UMass Dartmouth’s 3-0 victory over Dean College. She continued to play a key role in the Corsairs’ back row throughout the week, helping UMass Dartmouth hold its first three opponents to a combined .147 hitting percentage.
