PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its women’s volleyball weekly award winners for the week ending September 27, 2026. Plymouth State University’s Sya McKay was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Keene State College’s Bella Bacon swept Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors. Plymouth State’s Danielle Emerson was selected as Setter of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week – Sya McKay, Plymouth State

McKay helped lead Plymouth State to a 2-0 week with victories over the University of New England and Rhode Island College. The sophomore middle hitter totaled 21 kills while averaging 2.63 kills and 1.13 blocks per set across eight sets. She also recorded nine total blocks, two service aces and four digs. 

McKay opened the week with five kills, three blocks and two service aces in a 3-0 sweep of UNE. She followed with a standout performance in the Panthers’ five-set victory at Rhode Island College, pounding 16 kills on a .324 hitting percentage while adding six total blocks. 

Defensive Player & Rookie of the Week – Bella Bacon, Keene State

Bacon earns both Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors after helping Keene State post a 2-0 record with a pair of five-set victories. The first-year outside hitter totaled 37 digs, averaging 3.70 digs per set, while also contributing four total blocks and five service aces. She also made a significant impact offensively, finishing the week with 32 kills and a .238 hitting percentage. 

Bacon recorded 12 kills, 16 digs, four aces and two blocks in a 3-2 victory over Colby-Sawyer before delivering 20 kills and 21 digs in Keene State’s 3-2 conference-opening road victory over Eastern Connecticut. She hit .300 in the win over the Warriors and added two blocks and a service ace. 

Setter of the Week – Danielle Emerson, Plymouth State

Emerson directed the Plymouth State offense during its 2-0 week, averaging 7.25 assists and 2.13 digs per set. The junior setter totaled 58 assists, 17 digs, five kills and four service aces across the Panthers’ eight sets. 

Emerson recorded 13 assists, five digs, two kills and an ace in Plymouth State’s straight-set victory over UNE. She followed with a double-double in the Panthers’ five-set win at Rhode Island College, setting a career high with 45 assists while adding 12 digs, three kills and three service aces.
