PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its women’s volleyball weekly award winners for the week ending September 13, 2026. Plymouth State University’s Sya McKay was named Offensive Player of the Week, while UMass Dartmouth’s Maddie Carter, Skye Peters and Brooke Harrington earned Defensive Player, Setter and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.

Offensive Player of the Week – Sya McKay, Plymouth State

McKay put together a strong offensive week for the Panthers, averaging 3.73 kills per set while hitting .380 over three matches. The sophomore middle hitter totaled 41 kills, five solo blocks, six block assists and two service aces. She opened the week with 10 kills on a .563 hitting percentage and two blocks in a 3-0 victory over Norwich University. McKay followed with 13 kills against Wesleyan University before closing the week with a career-high 18 kills while hitting .400 and adding seven total blocks in a five-set match against Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Defensive Player of the Week – Maddie Carter, UMass Dartmouth

Carter anchored the Corsairs at the net during a 2-2 week, recording 14 total blocks across 15 sets. The middle blocker finished with two solo blocks and 12 block assists while also contributing 21 kills on a .333 hitting percentage. Carter recorded three block assists in a sweep of Wheaton College before registering a solo block and five block assists in a 3-0 victory over Framingham State University. She added four more total blocks and seven kills while hitting .462 in a five-set match against Johnson & Wales University.

Setter of the Week – Skye Peters, UMass Dartmouth

Peters directed the UMass Dartmouth offense throughout its four-match week, totaling 135 assists and averaging 9.00 assists per set over 15 sets. She also contributed 13 kills, 25 digs, eight service aces and three block assists. Peters opened the week with 24 assists, three aces and five digs in a sweep of Wheaton before posting 34 assists against WPI. She recorded 32 assists in a 3-0 win over Framingham State and capped the week with 45 assists, three aces and 10 digs against Johnson & Wales.

Rookie of the Week – Brooke Harrington, UMass Dartmouth

Harrington led the Corsairs’ back row with a team-high 75 digs, averaging 5.00 digs per set over 15 sets during UMass Dartmouth’s 2-2 week. The first-year defensive specialist also recorded 10 assists and five service aces. She posted 12 digs in a sweep of Wheaton before collecting 20 digs and three aces against WPI. Harrington added 15 digs and four assists in a 3-0 win over Framingham State before finishing the week with a collegiate-best 28 digs, three assists and an ace in a five-set match against Johnson & Wales.
