PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its first set of field hockey weekly award winners for the 2026 season, recognizing Eastern Connecticut State University’s Audrey Molin, the University of Southern Maine’s Julia Elie and Haylee Romasco, and Keene State College’s Henley Gilstrap following standout performances during the opening week of competition.

Offensive Player of the Week – Audrey Molin, Eastern Connecticut

Molin opened her junior campaign with a record-setting performance for the Warriors, scoring five goals in Eastern Connecticut’s 5-4 victory over Husson University on Saturday. Molin accounted for all five of the Warriors’ goals in the win, setting Eastern Connecticut single-game program records with five goals and 10 points. Her performance surpassed the previous marks of four goals and nine points. Molin’s five-goal effort helped Eastern Connecticut secure its first victory of the 2026 season.

Defensive Player of the Week – Julia Elie, Southern Maine

Elie helped anchor the Southern Maine defense while also providing the game-winning goal in the Huskies’ 3-1 victory over the University of Hartford on Saturday. With the game tied 1-1 in the fourth quarter, Elie came forward on a penalty corner and found the back of the cage in the 48th minute to give Southern Maine the lead. The Huskies’ defense limited Hartford to four total shots and four shots on goal in the victory. The goal was the second of Elie’s collegiate career.

Goalkeeper of the Week – Haylee Romasco, Southern Maine

Romasco earned her first collegiate victory in her first career appearance in goal for Southern Maine. The freshman made three saves in the Huskies’ 3-1 victory over Hartford, helping hold the Hawks scoreless in three of four quarters. Romasco and the Southern Maine defense limited Hartford to just four shots on goal as the Huskies earned their first victory of the 2026 campaign.

Rookie of the Week – Henley Gilstrap, Keene State

Gilstrap made an immediate impact during the opening week of her collegiate career, highlighted by a hat trick in Keene State’s 3-2 victory over New England College on Friday. The first-year midfielder/forward scored all three of the Owls’ goals in the win, including the go-ahead goal in the third quarter and an eventual game-winning insurance goal in the fourth. Gilstrap finished the opening week with four goals through her first two collegiate games, helping Keene State begin the season 2-0.
