Bridgewater State’s Simard, Maine Maritime’s Cox Win 3-Meter Gold to Open 2026 LEC Swimming & Diving Championships

BABSON PARK, Mass - Bridgewater State University senior Cailey Simard and Maine Maritime Academy senior Oliver Cox took home the 2026 Little East Conference 3-meter diving titles Thursday night at Babson College, kicking off competition at the 2026 LEC Swimming & Diving Championships. 

Simard posted a final score of 468.70 points as the Bears finished one-through-four in the event. BSU sophomore Gianna Varandy was the runner-up with 411.15 points, while juniors Jillian Hallman (347.50) and Ava Anderson (336.10) placed third and fourth, respectively. 

Husson University senior Riley Mahoney placed fifth with 312.30 points. Maine Maritime sophomore Abigail Cormier finished sixth with 257.15 points to round out the women’s competition. 

Cox registered a total of 377.40 points in the final round, placing him well in front of runner-up junior Cooper Niles from Keene State College who tallied 298.25 points. Bridgewater State’s Robbien Soucy placed third with 290.50 points, while MMA’s Michael Ordonez (280.70) and Keene State freshman Keegan Johnson (213.55) rounded out the men’s competitors. 

The 3-meter diving medals will be awarded Friday night as competition shifts to the Boston Sports Institute. Friday’s prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals get underway at 6:30 p.m.
