NEW LONDON, Conn. - The University of Southern Maine led the way for the Little East Conference’s women’s programs competing at the 2025 New England Division III Outdoor Championships, which were held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy May 2-3.
Zoe Barnes won the discus with her top toss of 45.45 meters and was the runner-up in the shot put with a top mark of 13.12 meters, while Riley Reitchel was victorious in the javelin with her top mark of 41.09 meters. Jaigan Boudreau placed third in discus (43.74m) and the shot put (13.02m) for the Huskies, while Olivia Jalbert placed seventh in the javelin (36.20m). Heaven Conly placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in 58.41 seconds.
UMass Boston’s Aryianna Garceau won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.75 seconds that ranks her second in the country by two hundredths of a second. Her performance set a new UMass Boston school record, broke the USCGA facility record and set a new meet record for the DIII New England Championships.
Rhode Island College’s Haley Oliver was victorious in the 10K, crossing the finish line in 36:31.26, while fellow Anchorwoman Trinity Hayes had a pair of individual top-three finishes. She was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.69 seconds, trailing only Bridgewater State’s Kiara Abrantes (55.35), and placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.66 was that was 11 hundredths off the winning time of 24.55 turned in by Colby’s Fiona Mejico.
Oliver and Hayes anchored RIC’s fifth-place 4x400 relay that posted a time of 4:01.92 and also included Bendu Kamara and Lexie Zakrzeweski. Samantha Sainristil took to the podium with her third-place finish in the hammer (46.18m).
Eastern Connecticut’s Natasha Frisch won the pole vault title by clearing 3.70 meters, which was 15 centimeters better than the next four finishers. Fellow Warrior Alison LeClerc was seventh in the steeplechase with her time of 11:45.34.
Vermont State Castleton’s Kalynn Stevenson placed second to Barned in the discus (43.91m) was seventh in the shot put (12.39m). UMass Dartmouth’s Emma Steedman placed third in the steeplechase with her time of 11:29.11. Fellow Corsair Olivia Seutter placed seventh in the discus (40.42m).
