PROVIDENCE, R.I. - D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) recently announced their All-District/Region award recipients for the 2024-25 season. Keene State’s Octavio Brito was named the District/Region Player of the Year by both organizations.
Brito continued to pile up the honors for this season after first being named the 2024-25 LEC Player of the Year and a First Team All-LEC selection. He led the conference in scoring average (22.1), total points (591) this season, while ranking second in blocked shots (40), third in rebounds (238) and rebounds per game (8.8), fourth in assists (90), fifth in field goal percentage (.525) and sixth in free throw percentage (.821) and steals (48).
Brito, a four-time All-LEC selection, finished his season ranked in the top-25 in NCAA Division III in total points (12th), field goals made (20th) and scoring average (22nd).
UMass Boston’s Raphel Laurent was named the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 2 Rookie of the Year after first being named the LEC Rookie of the Year. The freshman guard averaged 13.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in his first collegiate season, while ranking sixth in the league in field goal percentage (.522) and 11th in steals (43), 16th in minutes played per game (28.6) and 18th in free throw percentage (.726).
