LEC Announces 2025 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Major Awards and All-Conference Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its annual women’s indoor track & field awards Thursday, following a vote to determine the major award recipients by the LEC’s head coaches. All-conference teams were determined based on performance at Saturday’s LEC Indoor track & Field Championships that were hosted by Rhode Island College at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.
 
Track Athlete of the Year: Aryianna Garceau, UMass Boston
  • 2025 LEC champion in the 60-dash (7.74), 60 hurdles (8.62), 200-dash (25.53).
  • Her time in the 60 hurdles set a new LEC indoor championship record.
  • Garceau owns the No. 1 ranked 60-hurdles time in NCAA Division III this season, going 8.56 seconds at the Yankee Small College Invitational.  
  • Her 60 time from the LEC meet ranks her 34th in NCAA Division III this season.
  • Her converted 200 time of 25.14 from Boston University’s David Hemery Valentine Invitational ranks 15th in the nation.
 
Field Athlete of the Year: Zoe Barnes, Southern Maine
  • 2025 LEC Champion in the shot put (12.54m) and runner-up in the weight throw (15.00m).
  • Her season-best toss of 13.14 meters in the shot put at the Maine State Meet ranks 28th in NCAA Division III this season, and is third-best in New England, and leads the LEC.
  • Barnes’ season-best mark in the weight throw of 15.65 meters from the Maine State Meet ranks sixth in New England and is second-best in the LEC.
 
Rookie Track Athlete of the Year: Anna Holcomb, Western Connecticut
  • Placed second in the 400 (1:07.07) and sixth in the 200 (27.27) in her LEC Indoor Championships debut.
  • Her 400 performance made her the first-ever All-LEC performer for WestConn’s first-year program.
  • Holcomb’s converted time of 1:00.27 from LECs ranks 41st in New England.
 
Rookie Field Athlete of the Year: Khalysa Hammith, Southern Maine
  • 2025 LEC Champion in the long jump, spanning a LEC championship-record distance of 5.79 meters.
  • That mark that ranks her ninth in NCAA Division III and No. 1 in New England this season.
  • Her top triple jump mark of 9.40 meters at the USM Husky Invitational ranks 15th in the LEC.
 
Coaching Staff of the Year: University of Southern Maine
  • Head Coach: Rob Whitten
  • Assistant Coaches: Ryan Dyer, Jim Karcanes, Jim Giroux, Mike Drummey, Jeff Amos
  • Guided the Huskies to their fifth consecutive LEC indoor team title, marking the LEC-record 24th team title win in program history.
