Eastern Connecticut Maintains Top Spot at 2025 LEC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Eastern Connecticut State University continues to lead the race for the 2025 Little East Conference (LEC) men’s swimming & diving championship through Saturday’s competition at the Boston Sports Institute. Maine Maritime Academy is a close second with 548.5 points.
 
Eastern Connecticut’s Tito Boden won the night’s first individual event, claiming the gold medal in the 400 IM with a LEC-record time of 4:09.11, while Nico Iannucci won the night’s final individual race with a time of 57.78 seconds in the 100 breaststroke. The Warriors’ 800 freestyle relay of Joe Sylvester, Tito, Iannucci and Ben D’Addario closed the night with a LEC record and gold medal winning time of 7:13.74.
 
Maine Maritime’s Oliver Cox completed his sweep of the LEC’s diving events Saturday afternoon by totaling a winning score of 401.75 points on the one-meter board, after posting a LEC-record score of 408.85 points during Friday’s prelims. Fellow Mariner Carson Trout won the 50 butterfly in 23.21 seconds, out-touching Husson’s Sam Peiser (23.46) and Bridgewater State’s Jirat Saengthong (23.50).
 
Husson’s Ryan Emerson took home the gold medal in the 100 backstroke with a LEC-record time of 53.81 seconds. The Eagles’ 200 medley relay of Emerson, Brady Hand, Sam Peiser and Brayden Champlin opened the night’s competition with a winning time of 1:36.36.
 
Bridgewater State’ Mathew Jo won the 1,000 freestyle to close out the swimming portion of Saturday’s morning session, touching the wall first in 10:16.69. Keene State’s Aaron Turgeon won the 200 freestyle with a LEC-record time of 1:43.88, besting his previous conference mark of 1:45.73 set last year.
 
The final day of competition Sunday is scheduled to begin with prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the final session of the championship getting underway at 5:30 p.m. at Boston Sports Institute.
