Bridgewater State’s Simard, Maine Maritime’s Cox Win 3-Meter Diving Titles to Open 2025 LEC Swimming & Diving Championships

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Little East Conference crowned its 3-meter diving champions Thursday night at Babson College to kick off the 2025 LEC Swimming & Diving Championships. Bridgewater State’s Cailey won the women’s title for the third time in as many years, while Maine Maritime’s Oliver Cox won the men’s title for the first time.
 
Cox twice set the LEC Championship scoring record, first by posting an 11-dive score of 380.10 points in prelims before upping his total to 373.40 points at the conclusion of finals. Husson’s Matthew Steeves was the runner up with 333.75 points, while BSU’s Robbie Soucy placed third with 276.25 points.
 
Simard took down her own LEC Championship record on the 3-meter board (463.85 points), first by scoring 477.65 points in prelims before tallying 485.35 points in the final. Keene State’s Ayla Pullen took second with 397.50 points, while fellow Owl Megan Strzegowski placed third with 385.30 points.
 
The 3-meter diving finishes will be officially recognized Friday night following the first full day of competition at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Preliminary round are set to begin at 10 a.m. and the finals will begin at 6:30 p.m. Gates open one-hour to the scheduled start time.
