Swimmer of the Week

Ella Smith (Chicopee, Mass.) - Senior - Western New England
Smith had a trio of individual first-place finishes as the Gold Bears competed in a tri-meet with Gordon and Westfield State, claiming victory in the 200 freestyle (1:59.82), 100 freestyle (55.69) and 200 IM (2:13.68). She also swam on the 200 medley relay, helping the Golden Bears come back in a race they were trailing by a body length to win the event. Each of her individual performances are the fastest in the LEC this season. 

Diver of the Week

Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) - Senior - Bridgewater State
Simard was victorious on the one-meter (268.95) and three-meter (281.45) boards as the Bears split a tri-meet with Maine Maritime and Division II Saint Michael’s.

Rookie Swimmer of the Week

Ashley Carvente (Norwalk, Conn.) - Freshman - Eastern Connecticut
In Eastern Connecticut’s 180-81 home-opening win over Husson University Saturday, Carvente won the 200 butterfly (2:19.21) and 400 individual medley (5:04.04), swam the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:56.6) and took a leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:48.09). Her 200 butterfly and 400 IM times are the fastest in the LEC this season.

Rookie Diver of the Week

Sienna DeLucia (Wallingford, Conn.) - Freshman - Bridgewater State
DeLucia was second only to Simard on the one-meter (234.90) board as the Bears split a tri-meet with Maine Maritime and Division II Saint Michael’s.
