PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Following a vote of the Little East Conference (LEC) men’s golf head coaches, University of Southern Maine head coach Brian Bickford has been named the 2025 LEC Coach of the Year. It is his second time being voted LEC Coach of the Year in as many seasons.

Bickford guided the Huskies to their second consecutive LEC title last week at The Redding Country Club, where they finished seven stroke ahead of runner-up Eastern Connecticut State University. USM won with consistency, putting up a team total of 335 on day-one and a team score of 336 on day-two to win the conference championship, and secure the LEC’s automatic berth in the NCAA Division III National Championship this coming spring.

Three of Southern Maine’s five competitors earned All-LEC honors for their performances last week, led by Keenan Buteau who was named 2025 LEC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-LEC after placing third overall. Alex Fournier and Alex Grant earned Second-Team All-LEC honors after placing seventh and eighth, respectively.
