PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its women’s cross country weekly award winners for the week ending September 13, 2026. Rhode Island College’s Kristen Fountaine swept the conference’s weekly honors, earning both Runner of the Week and Rookie of the Week following her performance at the Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational.

Runner & Rookie of the Week – Kristen Fountaine, Rhode Island College

Fountaine led Rhode Island College at Bryant University’s Shawn M. Nassaney Invitational on September 12. The freshman from Cranston, R.I. completed the 5K course in 20:24.20, placing 41st overall in a field of 57 runners. The meet did not include team scoring for NCAA Division III programs, with only Division I teams included in the team rankings. Fountaine’s performance earned her both LEC Runner of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors.
