WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The third-seeded UMass Boston men's tennis team posted a 4-0 victory over sixth-seeded University of Southern Maine in the First Round of the 2026 Little East Conference Men's Tennis Championship Tournament
Tuesday at the Weymouth Club. The Beacons improved to 10-8 with the win, and will next travel to second-seeded Rhode Island College for Thursday's Semifinal Round matchup.
UMass Boston earned the doubles point by securing wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Thomas Ameral and William Kubinec combined on a 6-1 win over Bowdoin Allen and Charlie Bitar at the top flight, while James Tiger Li and Joseph Malone posted a 6-1 win at the third flight against Owen Drummey and Kayde Kinaschuk.
Kubinec opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 over Bitar before Dominik Dwyer moved the Beacons within a match point of victory with his 6-0, 6-1 win over Allen at No. 1. Ameral then closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Landon Weaver at No. 3.
Dwyer and Mario Pangione led 5-1 at second doubles over Aiden Urbahn and Weaver before that match was halted with the doubles point already clinched. Pangione led Urbahn at fourth doubles 6-1, 2-1 when the match ended, while Shrenith Saravana Rakshana
led Drummey 6-1 4-1 at sixth singles.
