Bridgewater State's Simard Punches Ticket to NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Bridgewater State University junior Cailey Simard has earned a spot at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, marking her first trip to the national championship meet following her efforts at last weekend's diving regional. She is one of 29 women's divers who will compete for a national title.

A native of Havehill, Massachusetts, Simard posted an 11-dive score of 415.35 points to place sixth on the one-meter board this past weekend at the NCAA Division III.Northeast/North Women's Diving Championships held at the Art Linkletter Natatorium on the campus of Springfield College. She also posted an 11-dive score of 398.70 points on the three-board to finish 19th in the event at the regional championships.

Simard will be the first diver from the Little East Conference to compete at the national championships since Westfield State's Katie Sterpka in 2015. Sterpka earned All-America honors on both the one-meter and three-meter boards that season. SImard swept the diving events for the third time in as many seasons in 2025 on her way to being named LEC Diver of the Year for the third consecutive season. 

Simard is the first student-athlete in BSU women's swimming & diving program history to qualify and compete at the national championship meet which will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. She holds four school diving records as she is the Bears' record holder on the one-meter and three-meter diving boards for both six and 11-dive events.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the Greensboro (N.C.) Aquatic Center will serve as hosts of the NCAA DIvision III Championships March 19-22.
