INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Bridgewater State University senior diver
Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) wrapped up her stellar career in the preliminaries of the three-meter diving competition on Saturday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Indiana University Natatorium.
Simard, who was competing in her second straight national championship meet, finished 29th on the three-meter board with an 11-dive score of 351.50 points.
Simard's highest scores today were 40.80 points on her seventh dive, a forward 2 1/2 somersault pike (2.4 DD). She also recorded 36.45 points on her tenth dive (inward 2 1/2 somersault tuck, 2.7 DD) and 34.20 points on both her second (back dive pike, 1.8 DD) and third (reverse dive pike, 1.9 DD) dives.
Sophomore
Nina Schwab (Piedmont, Calif.) of Carleton College placed first in the three-meter preliminaries with a score of 497.25 points. She was followed by freshman
Brooke Ronan (Louisville, Ky.) of Amherst College (473.80 pts.) in second place and
Donna Zhang (Winchester, Mass.) also of Amherst College (462.75 pts.) in third. The top eight performers advanced to Saturday evening's finals. Placewinners nine to 16 compete in the consolation.
On Thursday, Simard finished 17th on the one-meter board at the national championship meet. She improved by 11 spots in the standings from a year ago.
Simard wraps up her careers as a four-time Little East Diver of the Year, four-time NCAA Regional qualifier and two-time NCAA Championships qualifier. She holds school records for six-and 11-dive events on both boards.
