PROVIDENCE, R.I. - D3hoops.com and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) recently announced their annuals All-America recipients for the 2024-25 season, and both bestowed the honor on Rhode Island College’s Madison Medbury. The senior guard was named Fourth Team All-America by D3hoops.com and was among the WBCA’s All-America Honorable Mention recipients.
This adds to the already impressive list of accolades for Medbury this season. She was named the 2024-25 Little East Conference (LEC) Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 2 Player of the Year, and garnered Second Team All-Region from the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA). She was named First Team All-LEC and secured All-Region honors from both D3hoops.com and the NEWBA for the second consecutive season.
A Scituate, R.I. native, Medbury was among the 20 players selected to play in the annual WBCA’s Women’s Collegiate All-Star game that preceded Saturday’s Division III national final.
Medbury led the Anchorwomen to an overall record of 19-7 and a tie for the LEC regular season title. She led RIC in points scored (448), scoring average (17.1 ppg), assists (133) and steals (64), while her 7.1 rebounds per game were second on the team. She led the LEC in assists, while ranking 13 in NCAA Division III in assists per game (5.1) and 15th in total assists. Medbury additionally ranked second in the conference in steals, third in scoring and eight in rebounding.
