WARWICK, R.I. - Keene State College rallied on the second day of competition Friday to win the first-ever Little East Conference (LEC) Women’s Golf Championship, which was hosted by Rhode Island College at the par-72 Valley Country Club.
 
The Owls trailed Husson University by six strokes following the first round of competition, and improved their team score by 11 strokes on the second day to take home the LEC title. The Eagles finished second in the final team standings by five shots, while the University of Southern Maine rounded out the top-three of the final team standings.
 
USM senior Remy Levin became the LEC’s first medalist and Player of the Year after scoring 85 on both days to finish with a two-day total of 170. She needed to make par-or-better on the final hole to avoid a three-hole playoff, and sank a three-footer to finish with a five on the par-five 18th to secure her spot atop the leaderboard.
 
Keene State junior Madison Mousley was runner-up with a 171 (87-84), while Husson senior Caitlyn Chabot (83-90-173) finished third after leading the tournament following Thursday’s action. KSC’s Sadie Murray (91-85-176) earned LEC Rookie of the Year honors after tying for fourth with Husson senior Allie Weinert (89-87-176).
