PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its annual men’s golf major award winners and all-conference teams, following the completion of the 2024 LEC Men’s Golf Championship last week at Keene Country Club and a vote by the LEC head coaches for Coach of the Year.

Eastern Connecticut sophomore Ethan McDaniel, who is in his first collegiate season, was named 2024 LEC Player of the Year and 2024 LEC Rookie of the Year after claiming medalist honors at last week’s LEC Championship. He rallied with a three-under par round of 68 on day-two to finish three-under (139) for the tournament. He is the second Warrior to sweep the awards, which was first accomplished by Ashton Lewis in 2021.

University of Southern Maine head coach Brian Bickford was elected the 2024 LEC Coach of the Year by his peers after guiding a team consisting of five freshmen to the LEC title last week, the first in program history. The Huskies shot a two-under par 282 as a team on the opening day of competition, led by an all-time record seven-under par round of 64 by Jaden Poirier, before holding off a day-two charge by Eastern Connecticut to win the LEC title, and with it the conference’s automatic berth in May’s NCAA Division III Championship.
