Eastern Connecticut Leads the Field After First Round of 2022 LEC Men’s Golf Championship

ELLINGTON, Conn. - The Eastern Connecticut State University men’s golf team is half way to defending its Little East Conference (LEC) men’s golf title, as the Warriors lead the six-team field with a team tally of 311 following the opening round of play at the par-72, 6,936-yard Ellington Ridge Country Club.

5. Keene State - 350
6. Western Connecticut - 355
 
A trio of Warriors sit at the top of the leaderboard, led by Ashton Lewis who carded a one-under par round of 71. Jonah Dupuis and Chris Davidson are tied for second after both shot a five-over par round of 77.
 
There is a three-way tie for fourth at 78 featuring Castleton’s Brady Hathorn and Nick Ojala, and Southern Maine’s Carter Burnell. Keene State’s Caden Capaldo (79) is one-strike back of that group, while Castleton’s Andrew Stefura (81) and Brandon Picard (81) and Southern Maine’s Zach Ellsworth (82) round out the top-10 for the day.
