Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) - Sophomore - Plymouth State
Comeau swept this week’s LEC track honors after she set one school record and nearly eclipsed a second while winning two events at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday. She coasted to victory in the 60-meter dash with a winning time of 8.02 seconds to smash the previous school record of 8.20, and added a win in the 200-meter dash in 26.60 seconds. Her time in the 200 ranks 30th in NCAA Division III this season, while her 60 time is 43rd-best in the country.
Field Athlete of the Week
Shannon Parks (Reading, Mass.) - Senior - Keene State
Parks was once again named the LEC Field Athlete of the Week after she won the shot put with a throw of 11.29 meters and placed second in the weight throw at 14.47 meters at the Tufts Invitational.
Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Phoebe Slovenski (Cape Neddick, Maine) - Freshman - Southern Maine
Slovenski was named the LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week after placing fourth in the pole vault at the MIT Tri-Meet Saturday. She cleared a personal-best 2.95 meters, which is the top mark in the LEC this season and ranks her 19th in New England.
Relay of the Week
Southern Maine 4x400
The Huskies’ 4x400 relay comprised of juniors Madison Fornasier (South Burlington, Vt.), and Rosemary Train (Long Island, Maine), freshman Heaven Conley (Ogunquit, Maine) and sophomore Catriona Gould (Freeport, Maine) finished third at the MIT Tri-Meet with a time of 4:26.82. That time is the fastest in the LEC this season, and ranks 15th in New England.
