Field Athlete of the Week
Olivia Jalbert (Auburn, Maine) - Sophomore - Southern Maine
Jalbert was named the LEC Field Athlete of the Week after she won the high jump by clearing 1.67 meters and placing second in the long jump with a leap of 5.05 meters at the USM Open I meet Saturday. Her mark in the high jump set a new program record, and currently ties her for third in NCAA Division III this season.
Track Athlete of the Week
Maryann Cousens (Sunapee, N.H.) - Senior - Plymouth State
Cousens was named the LEC Track Athlete of the Week after she took second in the mile run at the USM Open I meet Saturday. Her time of 5:32.83 established a new school record and currently ranks her 28th in NCAA Division III this season. She also ran the third leg of PSU’s 4x400-meter relay that finished fifth of nine teams with a time of 4:40.69.
Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine) - Freshman - Southern Maine
Jaigan was named the LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week after she placed second in the shot put with a throw of 12.06 meters in her first-ever meet as a Husky. That mark puts her at fourth in the USM all-time record books, and ranks her 21st in NCAA Division III this season. Boudreau also performed well in the weight throw, finishing fourth with a throw of 11.60 meters.
Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) - Sophomore - Plymouth State
Comeau finished second in the 55-meter dash in school-record time of 7.48 seconds and placed third in the 200-meter dash in 27.83 seconds. She is tied for 38th in NCAA Division III in the 60-meter dash this season, after her 55 meter time was converted to 8.06 seconds.
Relay of the Week
Southern Maine 4x400 relay
Southern Maine’s 4x400m relay consisting of senior Emily Colby (Lunenburg, Vt.), junior Maddie Fornasier (South Burlington, Vt.), freshman Sophia Poole (Oakland, Maine) and sophomore Emma Noonan (Steep Falls, Maine) was named LEC Relay of the Week after they raced to a second place finish at the USM Open I with a time of 4:34:34, finishing second only to Husson (4:28.14).
