PROVIDENCE - A total of 63 Little East Conference (LEC) student-athletes were honored by College Sports Communicators for their academic achievements, as the organization recently announced its At-Large Academic All-District Teams.

To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. In ice hockey, nominees must compete in 90% of the institution's games played or start in at least 66% of games, while goalies must start at least 50% of games. Skiers must appear in 75% of carnivals or compete at the NCAA Championships. An institution is limited to six nominees per gender.
 
The Academic All-District At-Large program exists to honor student-athletes who compete in sports that do not offer their own category. At-large sports include women's field hockey, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's water polo, women's bowling, men's and women's fencing, men's and women's rifle, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's volleyball, men's wrestling, and women's beach volleyball.
 
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, where First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early-July.
