She had five goals and two assists in a 19-11 non-conference win over Elms before netting six goals with one assist in a 21-9 Little East victory over Rhode Island College. The sophomore opened the week scoring three times in a 15-9 non-conference setback to Plattsburgh. Defensive Player of the Week Mia Negus (Rocky Point, N.Y.) - Senior - Western Connecticut In the Wolves lone game of the week, Negus had five ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 19-2 league win at Plymouth State. The WestConn defense limited the Panthers to 11 shots and forced them into 24 turnovers on Saturday. Goalkeeper of the Week Maggie Jones (Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador) - Junior - Southern Maine Jones backstopped the Huskies to a 2-0 week, posting an 8.50 goals against average in a 12-9 non-conference win over Framingham State and a 12-8 league victory at Keene State. Rookie of the Week Lanza Bellomo (Rutland, Vt.) - Freshman - Vermont State Castleton Bellomo totaled six goals and three assists for nine total points in a 2-1 week for the Spartans, which also saw her total 11 ground balls and 19 draw controls. She tallied two goals, one assist, three ground balls, eight draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 19-11 win over Elms before scoring three goals with one helper, five draw controls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers in the 21-9 triumph over RIC.
