Yankee Ford LEC Softball Athletes of the Week: March 16, 2026 3/16/2026 1:39:34 PM Co-Player of the Week Kalle Halvorsen (Darien, Conn.) - Senior - Second Base/Utility - Keene State Halvorsen opened the season batting .857 (6-for-7) and slugging 1.429 as the Owls won both of their games Sunday to open the 2026 campaign. She was 4-for-4 with one triple, four runs scored and two RBI in a 14-6 victory over Augsburg and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run scored in a 5-4 triumph over Salem State. Noelle Simmons, Rhode Island College Simmons batted .556 (10-for-18) and slugged .889 with 12 runs scored, two doubles, two triples, six RBI and one stolen base in a 5-1 week for the Anchorwomen. She went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two doubles, one triple and three RBI as RIC downed Regis, 15-2. Simmons went 1-for-3 with four runs scored and an RBI in a 12-7 win over Suffolk, and was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI in a 12-9 win versus Skidmore. She was 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, one RBI and four runs scored in a 12-7 triumph over Suffolk, and capped the week going 2-for-2 with a run scored in a 9-5 win over Curry. Pitcher of the Week Madison Gould (Whitehall, N.Y.) - Senior - VTSU Castleton Gould went 4-0 in her five appearances at the Fastpitch Dreams Classic, pitching 25.1 innings with a 0.83 ERA, 36 strikeouts, and just four walks, including one shutout. Against Immaculata, she threw all seven innings, striking out a season-high 10 batters while allowing one walk in the 5-3 win. She followed with a seven-inning shutout against Brevard, recording another 10 strikeouts and walking no one in the 2-0 victory. In a 13-9 win over Cedar Crest, Gould pitched five innings of relief, striking out nine and allowing a pair of unearned runs. Gould fanned three of the five batters she faced in 1.1 innings of relief in the Spartans 12-8 win over Gwynedd Mercy. Rookie of the Week Anna Gostkowski (Meriden, Conn.) - Freshman - Outfield - Keene State Gostkowski batted .571 (4-for-7) and slugged 1.000 over the first two games of her collegiate career Sunday, totaling five RBI and three runs scored. She was 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in a 14-6 win over Augsburg before going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored in a 5-4 win over Salem State.
