UMass Boston’s Garceau and Southern Maine’s Barnes Claim National Championships at 2026 DIII Indoor Championships 3/14/2026 8:39:04 PM BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - University of Massachusetts Boston senior Aryianna Garceau and University of Southern Maine senior Zoe Barnes were crowned national champions at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. Garceau defended her 60-meter hurdles title to open the day’s competition, winning the race in 8.25 seconds. In doing so, she set new NCAA Division III and meet records. Pacific’s Allyson Hammond was the runner-up in 8.42 seconds. That was the first of two First Team All-America performances for Garceau, who later placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with her time of 24.78 seconds. Wisconsin-Plateville’s Isabel Peterson won the race in 23.78. Barnes won her first career national title with a top toss of 14.84 meters in the shot put on her sixth and final attempt. She advanced to the final stage after putting up a mark of 14.49 meters on her third try of the day, which also would have placed her atop the podium in the event. Whitworth’s Amblessed Okemgbo was the runner-up with her mark of 14.37 meters.
