Keene State Claims 2026 LEC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship, First Since 2008

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Keene State College captured the 2026 Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Indoor Track & Field championship Saturday, which was hosted by Plymouth State University at the Bank of New Hampshire Fieldhouse at ALLwell North. It marks the first indoor title win since the 2008 for the Owls, and is their third indoor conference title in program history. 

The Owls picked up six individual gold medals on the day – two more than the next closest team – and swept the podium twice. Aidan Law on a pair of LEC titles, topping the podium in the 200 meters (22.49) and the long jump (6.86 meters), while Eden Damis took the triple jump with a mark of 13.96 meters. Griffin Urnezis placed first in the 5,000 meters (15:27.13) and Tyler Bolaske set a new meet and facility record as he won the gold medal in the mile (4:11.00), outpacing KSC alum Ryan Gough's time of 4:15.64 from 2006. 

Keene State placed 1-2-3 in two separate events, including the 60 meters where Thomas took first in 6.94, Ethan Vitello second in 7.02, and Law third in 7.05.  Thomas and Law just had to swap places for the 200 award pictures, with Vitello finishing just .04 seconds behind Law and Thomas just .06.

UMass Dartmouth's Joseph Stanton won the 800 in 1:58.53, while fellow Corsair Michael Veegh won gold in the 400 with his time of 50.54 seconds. The Corsairs 4x800 relay of Edward Yeboah, Cameron Thompson, Jack Barbato and Stanton topped the podium with their time of 8:10.37. Sean Patrone was victorious in the high jump, clearing 1.97 meters to win the event, while Ryker Paradis won the shot put at 16.69 meters.

Southern Maine's Michael Cyr won a tightly contested 3,000 after crossing the finish line in 8:57.58, just barely edging out UMass Dartmouth's Connor Jackson (8:57.82) and Urnezis (8:58.03). Christian Burke, Dylan Courtney and Michael D'Amico swept the podium in the pole vault, each clearing 4.45 meters. Burke won gold after clearing the mark on his first try, while Courtney earned silver and D'Amico bronze.

Eastern Connecticut's 4x400 relay comprised of James Saintjean, Hagen Drake, Bode Paquin and Jakeem Wilson closed out the track events by posting a winning time of 3:28.34. UMass Boston's Justin Reilly won the 60 hurdles in 8.56 seconds after going 8.57 in the prelims. 

RIC swept the podium int he weight throw, led by Brandon's Mota's gold medal winning toss of 17.98 meters. Enrique Edjang won silver with a top mark of 16.82 meters, and Shamus Culhane won bronze with his throw of 15.77 meters.
