Player of the Week

Raphel Laurent (Peabody, Mass.) - Sophomore - Guard - UMass Boston
Laurent averaged 26 points on 60 percent (18-30) shooting from the field, including a 67 percent (6-9) showing from three in a 2-0 week for the LEC-leading Beacons. He also averaged seven rebounds and three assists per contest. He dropped a career-high 31 points on an 11-for-16 shooting Wednesday in a 100-85 win over VTSU Castleton, which also saw him shoot 5-of-7 from three while grabbing five rebounds and dishing a pair of assists. Laurent capped the week with 21 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists in a 78-70 win over Plymouth State.

Rookie of the Week

Gabe Lash (Waldoboro, Maine) - Freshman - Forward - Southern Maine
Lash averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Huskies in LEC action, shooting 50 percent (7-for-14) from the field and going 11-for-12 from the free throw line. In a 120-100 win over Plymouth State, Lash had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists as he went 4-for-5 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe. On the road at UMass Dartmouth, Lash had nine points and nine rebounds.
