Eastern Connecticut Cruises to 2026 LEC Women’s Swimming & Diving Title 2/16/2026 12:27:21 AM WELLESLEY, Mass. - For the second time in three seasons, Eastern Connecticut State University was crowned Little East Conference (LEC) women’s swimming & diving champion, as the Warriors piled up 839.5 points at the Boston Sports Institute during Presidents Day weekend. Keene State College finished second in the team standings with 529 points, while Bridgewater State placed third with 487 points. Husson University (461) and the University of New England (449) rounded out the top-five of the team standings. 2026 LEC Major Award Winners Women’s Diver of the Year: Cailey Simard, Bridgewater State Women’s Swimmer of the Year: Ella Smith, Western New England Women’s Rookie Diver of the Year: Sienna DeLucia, Bridgewater State Women’s Rookie Swimmer of the Year: Emily Kennard, Husson Women’s Swimming & Diving Coaching Staff of the Year: Eastern Connecticut Sunday Finals Eastern Connecticut won a trio of events to close out this year’s championship win. Ashley Carvante was victorious in the 200 butterfly with her time of 2:17.15, while Jai-Lynn Wheeler claimed the 100 freestyle title in 53.51 seconds. The Warriors’ 400 freestyle relay closed out the meet with a winning time of 3:43.51. Western New England's Ella Smith put forth yet another LEC record setting performance, winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.14. Maeve McDermott won the 100 IM in 1:02.36 for the University of New England, while Keene State’s Rory Lee won gold in the 1,650 freestyle after touching the wall in 18:31.67. Kennard also topped the podium this evening, winning the 50 backstroke in 28.19 seconds.
