PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Four Little East Conference (LEC) women’s volleyball programs were named recipients of the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, it was announced by the organization Monday.
 
Eastern Connecticut State University, Plymouth State University, UMass Boston and UMass Dartmouth maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale) to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award. The Beacons also earned the additional distinction of Team Academic Honor Roll, which celebrates programs in the top 20-percent of GPAs for their division.
 
In addition to meeting GPA requirements, the program’s head coach must be a dues-paying member of the AVCA.
