PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Two-time defending Little East Conference (LEC) women’s volleyball champion University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was named the unanimous favorite to claim the league title in 2025 by the LEC head coaches, totaling 64 points while receiving each of a possible eight first-place votes.
The Corsairs posted an overall record of 23-7 last season, including sweeping their way through conference semifinal and championship match wins over UMass Boston and Plymouth State, respectively, to repeat as LEC tournament champion. UMass Dartmouth then fell in a tightly contested 3-1 match to then 14th-ranked Colby College in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
The Beacons were picked to finish second by the LEC head coaches, totaling 55 points. The Beacons were 19-9 last season and were third in the conference standings last season at 6-2. Western Connecticut State University was picked to finish third in the LEC this season with 48 points, while defending LEC regular season champion Plymouth State University came in fourth with 42 points.
