A huge second half and a pair of dominant individual scoring efforts led Southern Maine past UMass Dartmouth.

The Corsairs held a 4-3 lead midway through the second quarter following a string of three consecutive goals from Maddy Allen, but would not score again until the fourth quarter. That was in large part due to a 12-0 scoring run for USM that started with Anna Byers’ first tally with seven minutes left in the second and was capped by Katelyn D'Appolonia when she scored her fourth goal of the contest 47 seconds into the fourth.

D'Appolonia tallied a game nine points on four goals and five assists, while Cierra Hill had six points on three goals and three assists. Byers finished with three goals, while Maddie Kinney added two goals and one assist for three points. Lydia Laslavic earned the win in goal, totaling nine saves in the contest.

Allen finished with a game-high five goals for the Corsairs, while Claire Altshuler and Adella Mabee added one goal each. Kerira Bushy totaled 12 saves in goal.

The Owls outscored the Warriors 7-5 down the stretch, but that was not enough to rally from the eight-goal deficit.
