PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team was named the favorite to win the 2025 Little East Conference Championship, according to the results of the annual preseason coaches’ poll. The two-time defending LEC tournament champs totaled 63 points and seven first-place votes.
The Panthers posted an overall record of 13-7 last season, and tied for second in the LEC standings at 5-2 in league play. PSU was seeded fourth in the conference tournament, and won the championship by defeating fifth-seeded Southern Maine (16-6) at home before taking down top-seeded Western Connecticut (13-8) and second-seeded Keene State (15-6) on the road to win its LEC-record 10th tournament championship.
Plymouth State returns the majority from its lineup last season, led by reigning LEC Defensive Player of the Year Megan Gaspa and Offensive Player of the Year Julia Donovan. Jenna Stowell returns in the midfield after being named All-Region by the IWLCA in 2024.
