Player of the Week

Moa Carlsson (Stockholm, Sweden) - Senior - Forward - Vermont State Castleton
Moa Carlsson helped her team stun a nationally-ranked Oswego State team over the weekend, going 1-1. In Friday’s 3-0 win over the Lakers, Carlsson put up two points on a goal and an assist. In Saturday’s heartbreaking 3-2 loss, the captain of the Spartans put up the game-tying score with 40 seconds remaining on the clock. 

Goaltender of the Week

Gianna McCusker (Medford, Mass.) - Sophomore - Vermont State Castleton
Gianna McCusker helped her team to a 1-1 weekend against #8 Oswego State. In Friday’s 3-0 win over the Lakers, the sophomore put up a career-best 38 saves for her first-ever shutout. She earned herself the job of starting netminder on Saturday as well, upping her efforts in the heartbreaking 3-2 loss. McCusker increased her career-best save number to 43. 

Rookie of the Week

Sofia Cuozzo (Guilford, Conn.) - Freshman - Forward - Plymouth State
Cuozzo scored a pair of game-winning goals to help the Panthers sweep a weekend series with Salem State. She potted her first career goal with 2:17 left in the second period during PSU’s 2-0 win on Friday afternoon, then broke a 1-1 tie with a power play tally with 4:34 remaining in the second period in Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Vikings.
