LEC Announces 2025 Women’s Soccer Major Award Recipients and All-Conference Teams

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its annual women’s soccer major award winners and all-conference teams Tuesday, following a vote of the league’s head coaches. There were a pair of repeat major award recipients in Eastern Connecticut’s Alex Ignatowicz and UMass Boston’s Sofia Schallmo.
 
Ignatowicz was named the LEC Goalkeeper of the Year for the second consecutive season after posting a record of 8-3-3 as a sophomore with a league-best 1.26 goals against average and .810 save percentage. She totaled 64 saves in her 15 games played, while allowing 15 goals over 1,072 minutes of action.
 
Schallmo was again named the LEC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the LEC with 13 goals and ranking second in total points with 33 while playing in 18 matches as a sophomore. Her seven assists placed her fourth in the conference this season
 
Rhode Island College senior back Karen Johnson-Hoffman was named the 2025 LEC Defensive Player of the Year after leading a defense that ranked No. 1 in the LEC, allowing 19 goals over 17 contests for a 1.59 opponents scoring average. She played every minute (1,530) of her 17 starts this season.
 
UMass Dartmouth freshman forward Natalie Frazier was named the 2025 LEC Rookie of the Year after leading the Corsairs in scoring with 12 goals and 25 total points. Her 12 goals were third-best in the LEC this season, while her team-best three game-winners tied for second in the league and her 25 points were tied for fifth-best in the LEC.
 
Eastern Connecticut was voted the 2025 LEC Coaching staff of the Year. Led by fourth-year head coach Sarah Tompkins, associate head coach Emily Morphitis and goalkeeper coach Phil Stevens, the Warriors posted an overall record of 10-5-3 and won the 2025 LEC regular season title with a league record of 5-1-2 for 17 points. It was Eastern Connecticut’s first regular season championship since 2017.
