Player of the Week
Zach Donahue (South Windsor, Conn.) - Junior - Shortstop - Eastern Connecticut
Donahue was named the LEC Player of the Week after batting .500 (9-for-18) and slugging 1.000 as he totaled five extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored in a 3-2 week for the nationally ranked Warriors. He opened the week going 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored in a 12-2 non-conference win over New England College, and capped the week going 5-for-6 with one double, one triple, four RBI and four runs scored as Eastern swept a LEC doubleheader from Plymouth State (14-0 and 8-0). Donahue was 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer in the Warriors non-conference setback to Westfield State.
Pitcher of the Week
Adam Maher (Plymouth, Mass.) - Sophomore - UMass Dartmouth
Maher was named the LEC Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter in the Corsairs’ 10-0 game-two conference victory over Western Connecticut Friday. The lefty fanned 10 batters while yielding four walks in the seven-inning complete-game effort.
Rookie of the Week
Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) - Freshman - Second Base - Rhode Island College
McElroy was named the LEC Rookie of the Week after batting .385 (5-for-13) and slugging .846 as he totaled three doubles, one homer, eight runs scored and three RBI in a 4-0 week for the Anchormen. He was huge for RIC as it swept a conference twin bill from Southern Maine Sunday by identical 10-1 scores, going a combined 5-for-8 with three doubles, one home run, five runs and a pair of RBI.
