PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference announced its annual baseball award recipients Wednesday, following a vote of the league's head coaches. LEC regular season and tournament champion University of Southern Maine swept the major awards.
Player of the Year - Kyle Douin, Southern Maine
- LEC leader in batting average (.436), slugging (.788), hits (72), RBI (66), runs scored (64) and home runs (12).
- Second in in the LEC in on-base percentage (.546) and is fourth in doubles (14).
- Named LEC Player of the Year for the second time in three seasons.
Pitcher of the Year - Gabe Gifford, Southern Maine
- LEC leader in ERA (2.22), opponent batting average (.200), strikeouts (75), runs allowed (17) and earned runs allowed (14).
- 5-2 record with 56.2 innings of work in his 13 appearances with nine starts.
Rookie of the Year - Hayden Strout, Southern Maine
- Second in the LEC in ERA (2.28), opponent batting average (.229) and earned runs allowed (18), while raking third in runs allowed (24).
- 6-1 record with 48.0 innings of work in his 10 appearances with seven starts.
Coach of the Year - Scott Heath, Southern Maine
- Guided USM to a record ofg 30-10 so far this season, his second leading the program.
- The Huskies captured the 2026 LEC regular season and tournament championships.
